The Viberti Giovanni winery's story begins in 1923 when Cavalier Antonio Viberti bought the Locanda del Buon Padre and started producing wine for his guests here. At this time he only vinified Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes and the sales almost exclusively took place within Buon Padre.

In 1967, the second son, Giovanni, with his wife, Maria, began the first steps in the expansion of the small family cellar with the construction of a new winery and gradual expansion of the vineyard park, and in the 1970s they began the first fermentation processes in cement tanks, making their first exports to neighbouring countries and to southern Europe. By the end of 1980s, the first micro-vinifications of the individual vineyards had begun and sales began to expand internationally into the rest Europe, with the US market exports beginning in the following decade.

Today, the third generation continues the work on the vineyard, with Claudio, the youngest son, being directly involved in winemaking and management operations, joining his brother GianLuca. In 2008 Claudio took over the running of the family winery, with GianLuca founding the newly born CasinaBric 460. Thanks to its history, the vineyard can produce 120,000 bottles a years, with the work of a young and motivated group of staff who have growing ambitions.

The Barolo Buon Padre remains at the centre of attention for the family, and continues to grow in its most classic style. This was the first wine for the vineyard to ever produce in 1927, as their house wine.
