Huia Sauvignon Blanc 2022 75cl
Tasting Note
Lovely light grassy aromas with some delightful hints of passion fruit, green apples, hints of lychee and because the wine has gone into neutral oak for 12 months you get a roundness of texture with absolutely no oak flavour.
Producer
Huia Estate began as an idea in 1990 and the vines that current wine is made from were planted in 1996. From the beginning they have had an approach to emphasise environmental sustainability and organics.
The vineyard is located in Marlborough's Rapaura district; a site close to the Wairau River and is very much in the lee of the Richmond Range. The Wairau plains were formed originally by glacial action and the ranges which now define the valley, where the Wairau River flows, lead to a range of soils. As you move further towards the Wither Hills the soild become richer and the proportion of clay within the soild also increases as you approach the slopes of the hills.
