Christian Boffa Barolo Capalot 2017 75cl
THIS IS A PRE-ORDER OFFER. STOCK WILL ARRIVE MID FEBRUARY 2025
Tasting Note
This has a delicious, fragrant aroma of cherries, spiced dried fruit, coffee and a big, bold palate. A meaty wine with intensity yet, with some time open, a gentleness emerging.
Producer
Rooted in the historical vineyards of La Morra, the Cristian Boffa winery embodies a rich legacy of Piedmontese viticulture. Managed by Stefano, Marilena, Cristian, and Miriam Boffa, the estate specializes in classic Langhe wines, including Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and distinguished Barolos from their Capalot and other local cru vineyards. Their 5-hectare operation near Santa Maria thrives on the unique marl soils of the region, cultivating vines that are on average 35 years old. The family’s approach combines traditional winemaking with modern insights, ensuring each bottle reflects the nuanced character of their terroir. Embodying a small, family-run estate, the Boffas have transitioned from selling grapes and bulk wine to bottling their own wines a few years ago. Their Barolo from the La Morra is a blend from several vineyards, including the distinguished Barolo Cavallotto cru.
