Le Grappin Savigny-Les-Beaune Rouge 2017 75cl

£59.95

An abandoned fruit orchard of aromatics; mulberry, black currant, wild cherry, cranberry notes. Secondary aromatics of freshly turned earth, baking spices, violets and tar. Refreshing acidity, bright and lip-smacking. Suede-like (tailored, of course!) tannins, both feather-lite and supple, give complexity to the mouthfeel.

Light, savoury and spicy, this is framed by 15% new wood, with plenty of bright, tangy fruit and just a nip of tannin. Tim Atkin MW, 91/100

Very light and fruity. Lots of fun and some very fine tannins lurking underneath. It may take on a bit of flesh, but this will probably always be pretty light-bodied – not that there’s anything wrong with that. Lunchtime burgundy? Jancis Robinson MW, 16+/20

Deep red fruit aroma. This is juicy and generous. There is raspberry fruit with crunchy fruit, herbal freshness at the end, which is I assume, from the whole bunch. Sarah Marsh MW, 15.5/20
