Le Fou Pinot Noir 2018 75cl

£9.95 GBP

Tasting Note

Le Fou means 'The Madman', possibly because they are trying to make Pinot Noir in southern France. Thing is, this is fab! No oak, all fruit, lovely.

Producer

After 10 years of Boutinot importing wines from France back into the UK, Paul Boutinot started Boutinot France in January 1990, with the first office being in the middle of the vines in Julienas – the perfect location to navigate the regions of Beaujolais and Macon. Since then, the company has since grown and has relocated to Macon. It has over 20 employees taking care of production across the whole of France. This company uses a combination of models to source their wines, from large-scale, high-quality coops to small, family growers and single domains, as well as from their own vineyards in Cairanne and Saint-Vérand. The expertise of four winemakers, including Master Blender Samantha Bailey, and a network of partner growers is drawn on to create their wines.
