Laderas de Montejurra
NAVARRA, SPAIN
Owned by the family of environmental prosecutor Emilio Valerio, they have over fifty parcels of vines near Dicastillo, a village in Tierra Estella in Navarra. This is the home of Valerio and the purpose of this company is to protect the local countryside and its biodiversity. They plant native graes, Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha, as well as a couple of French varieties. Fermentation is only in concrete or wood - with no steel to be seen, which helps promote the fruit character of the grapes.
These are some of the nicest wines coming out of Navarra, and are super value for money.
