Domaine du Grand Montmirail
GIGONDAS, RHONE VALLEY, FRANCE
The Domaine's vineyards are all located on the steep banks of the Dentelles hills in the southeastern part of the Gigondas appellation. Here, the vines are sheltered from the Mistral wind and are grown at an altitude of 300-350 metres, giving the wine a lovely amount of acidity. This allows the wine to age for decades as well as balancing out the robust flavours of dark cherry, licorice, and black pepper. Domaine du Grand Montmirail's wine stands out from its neighbours in Gigondas because of its superb balance and liveliness which can be found in every single sip.
