MEDOC, BORDEAUX, FRANCE
Seventy three hectares of vineyards located in the northern part of the Medoc. Dating back to 1876, the wines are Cabernet focused and age beautifully. I've been drinking these wines for over a decade, and leading critic, Michael Broadbent, apparently uses this wine as his everyday drinking claret!
It is wonderful value for money, really over delivers and if you fancy cellaring something not too pricy, you really can't go wrong with this.
Peter's Comments: I've been following this producer for nearly twenty years and have many back vintages in my cellar such is my love of this wine. When I visited them for the first time in 2019, I found that Frédéric Le Clerc and Benjamin Richer de Forges, the two cousins running the estate, were the most delightful people, and that visit goes down as one of the best wine trips I've ever been on. If you fancy a visit, they were one of the first producers in the Northern Medoc to do free tastings and tours, so if you are in the area, please do visit them.
